IMPORTANT DATES There will be an AGM on Thursday 11th September at 8.00 p.m. This is open to all but only full members have speaking and voting rights. Please make every effort to attend. There will also be a very important meeting for coaches, judges and invited members at 9.30 on the same evening. NEW COMPETITION STRUCTURE As many of you will be aware there is a radical restructuring of the National Competition structure in Trampolining from September 2008 and DMT (already started). This necessitates a review of coaching and competition structures within the club and gives us the opportunity to review our support structures and infrastructures. A full presentation will be given at a session shortly but in the interim please read the notes below. Each competitor will be able to opt to go into any level equal or below their current level. Anyone who is not already in the system (i.e. competing Grade 5-7) will have to start the new system at the lowest level and work up. Anyone competing in any regional level will have to be 9 years old in the year of competition. Routines There are new routines for all grades lower than current grade 3. Copies of these are available to all club members for insertion into personal folders. All routines must start with an arm set. The arm set means “any arm movement that puts the arms above the head at full depression of the bed prior to the first move”. Failure to perform this arm set will be met with a deduction. Where the routines specify a limited number of body landings or somersaults, any exceedance of these maximum voluntary requirements will result in the routine being terminated. Logbooks A logbook will be introduced shortly. Ultimately this will be compulsory. Samples of this will be available to look at shortly. Promotion and Relegation (Grades FIG A and B only). The promotion and relegation system will be based on the competitors overall position at a competition rather than the competitors score. In each group, the top 20% placed competitors will be awarded 1 point. In each group, the bottom 20% placed competitors will be deducted 1 point. Once a competitor has reached a score of +2 points they can move up a grade. Once a competitor has reached a score of -2 points, they are required to be relegated – (FIG A and FIG B only) Newly promoted competitors will trial on a score of -1 points. This will be set to 0 if they avoid placing in the bottom 20% of their first competition. If they finish in the bottom 20% they will be relegated. Newly relegated competitors will trial on a score of +1 points. This will be set to 0 if they don’t place in the top 20% of their first competition. If they finish in the top 20% they may return to the higher level for the next competition. Qualification for National Finals will be by finishing in the top 50% of any one event. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
